FitSense
Project Overview
Adolescent girls often face various concerns about bras. They feel shy expressing the changes in their breasts to parents and others, and are unsure about what an appropriately sized bra should be like. Consequently, even if the bra size is not suitable, they silently endure it, which leads to various physiological and psychological issues. Therefore, I designed a bra with an embedded pressure patch to detect the tightness of the bra. The product helps teenage girls realize the changes in their breasts and whether the bra size is appropriate, and ensures the healthy development of their bodies and minds.

2nd-Round Prototype
The interactive device of FitSense involves a breast development data collection system including: a collection module, a pressure sensor for collecting pressure data through a mesh distributed in the cup, a transmission module, a recording module and an analysis module.

When the pressure value is within the normal range, the light appears green. It means that the bra is the right size.
Final Display
When the pressure value is within the normal range, the light appears green. It means that the bra is the right size.
When the pressure value is above the normal range, the light appears blue. It means that the bra is too loose.

In final production, I plan to use multi-point pressure testing to detect the fit of breasts and bras.
The interactive device is composed of a detection patch and an interactive bra. When the patch detects that the pressure sensing at multiple points is below or above the range value, the device will display a warning light to remind the user.
FitSense, the wearable, shape-adapting interactive detection bra, can achieve standardized and repeatable collection of pressure points on the entire breast, reducing girls’ mis-selection of bra sizes during their development period.
